1st and 2nd Annual Christmas Date with Mommy and Daddy!

Last year Marc and I took Emily to see Peter Pan on Broadway and to dinner at a really nice restaurant.  The boys said they had no interest in going to a play at all and Vensly just wasn't ready to be out like that yet last year so it was just us three!  We had to best time.  Emily and I got all dressed up and met Daddy at work so he was already dressed up!  She LOVED Peter Pan and sat through every bit of it.  She looked beautiful in her Christmas dress and coat Aunt Charlene made her.  Actually the coat was her cousins who is now in college!
Here are last years pictures........ (they are iphone pictures so they aren't great!)

At Daddy's work picking him up to head out!

At the restaurant with my daddy!

We decided to make this a tradition and  just the three of us will go on a Christmas date and do something fun!  This year Elf was playing and I didn't think she would sit still for that and I waited to long to get Nutcracker tickets so we just decided to go shopping and go eat in Highland Village that is all lit up for Christmas!  Daddy bought us the Hunter boots I have been wanting!  He's to good to us!

I think the lights there are more beautiful than NYC at Christmas!

We went to Sprinkles before dinner to get cupcakes for her brothers and of course her too!

Dad took us to Nordstrom's to buy us our boots!!!!!

Me and my sweet girl in front of the Galleria Christmas tree!

Emmie's boots!!!!  Of course in PINK!

And here are mine!  (this is a bad iphone pic!)
She insisted on chopsticks!!!!!

I hope she never outgrows going on dates with us!!!!!

I have been sick for the last 24 hours and have spent most of yesterday in the bed and today on the couch!  I am loving my husband for taking care of the kids, grocery shopping, and today is making me homemade chicken noodle soup!

This was in NYC last weekend!  I think he may be the hottest hubby and dad on this earth!!!!!! favorite time of year will be here in three days!  CHRISTMAS!  The birth of our Savior!  I hope each of you know the true meaning of Christmas and have a wonderful Christmas day!

A New Start!

We are homeschooling again!  Well just Jesse......he officially started the third grade over again on Monday last week!  We are doing The A Beka Academy and we are loving it.  He actually has a teacher that teaches him all subjects each day through DVD's.  Some of it is just review for him but some is actually a challenge for him too.  We send his tests in each week and he is given a report card and official transcripts at the end of the year.
I really enjoy the time alone with him each day.  It's hard to get that with five kids!

This was our first day before getting a desk and all the supplies we needed!

On another note................
Check back after the first of the year for a HUGE announcement that I can finally share with EVERYONE!  We are so excited and a little scared all at the same time but this was something that we have prayed about for a long time and we know that God has finally given us the green light!

We are also waiting to hear back from a college that Taylor really wants to attend to see if he was accepted or not.  He was already accepted to one that he liked but not as much as this one.  SO.....again after the first I pray I will be making that announcement too!  Either way I am so proud of him for all his hard work these past 13 years of school and I know that no matter where he goes and what he decides to do in life he will be successful and happy!!!!!

My Momma Heart!

This sums up my momma HEART to a tee!  I pray this for all my boys.....but I really hope I have done what I needed to do for my oldest boy!  We have officially decided that he will be moving to College Station for the 2014 school year.  I am so excited for him but so sad that he will leave us.  I have been with that boy almost every single day for the last 17 and a half years.  I FOR SURE have heard his voice every day of his life so far!  I almost can't bear the thought of not seeing him every day.  BUT.....that is life!  God is preparing him to be a be an make a living......and eventually be a husband and father!

I continue to ask myself and to worry about things like......who will make his food?  Who will clean up after him?  Who will wash his clothes and sheets?  Who will make sure he goes to bed at a decent hour?  The what if's and the who will's go on forever!  And God each time tells me....Taylor will.  He will have to!  It's time to grow up and to learn these things on his own.  This is how life works!  This is a stage in the life of a young man!  God also continues to tell me "Let Go and Let Me!"  I am working on that part.

From Childhood Best Friends to College Room Mates! WOW!

I pray for these two boys!  They have been best friends for what seems like forever and will next be entering the real world together to prepare for their future!  I know they are going to do great things!  I am excited to see God will unfold for sure..........

Until then pray for me......this momma's heart is so sad sometimes and longs for the boy that was so hyper and so funny and so little!  Is it bad to ask for a do over of about ten years!  :)

Marriage Monday.........Things that say I LOVE YOU!

Again, I got the idea from my favorite marriage blog......The Time Warp Wife.
Maybe one day I will have my OWN topics to talk about!  :)

She has 102 things that say I LOVE YOU to her or her husband.  I am not sure if I can come up with that many in the few minutes I have to blog this morning but I sure have some!

Here they are.......

This may be part 1.....

When he first winked at me at Sears almost 21 years ago!

The way he was always such a gentleman when we were dating.  I never paid for ANYTHING and never opened my own door.

When he asked me to marry him at a gas station because he couldn't wait any longer!  (I still tell him I need a redo one day!)

How he looked so handsome and SO YOUNG standing at the alter waiting to say I DO!

The way he's always encouraged my dreams and the things I love.

The way he's been such a great provider from the day we got married.

The day our first son was born.

The way he held me the day I found out we couldn't have anymore biological children.

The day he called me to tell me we are supposed to adopt.

The day they handed us Noah.

The day he said YES to Jesse.

The day we watched Jesse come off that plane!

The day I told him I was pregnant with our miracle girl!!!!

The way that he KNEW it was a girl and that she would have BROWN hair and blue eyes!

When he went to Haiti and came home a changed man.

How he feel in love with a tiny little Haitian boy that barely weighed anything and couldn't even swallow.

How he knew Vensly was our fifth and final child!

How he loves the country and the people of Haiti.

How he leads our home spiritually.

His prayers!

The way he kisses me on my neck EVERY morning before leaving for work.

How he dances like a crazy man!

How he makes me laugh like no one else!

The way he loves me unconditionally.

The way he loves my long hair.

Watching him dance with our baby girl!

Snuggling at night.

Five on Friday........

Here are five things that I am loving this Friday!

1.  God Moments!  I had a God moment the other day and I got in my car in awe over Him and how he takes care of me even when I don't deserve it.  A random conversation with a teacher gave me confirmation of a HUGE decision that hubby and I have been talking about and praying about.  I can't wait to officially announce it soon!  It is one of the biggest decisions we have ever made in our marriage!  I try to remind myself that God's Will can sometimes make us uncomfortable at first but it's ALWAYS the right way!

2.  I love watching the movie "Facing The Giants".......if you haven't seen it go buy it HERE!

Watch a trailer HERE!

Every time I watch this movie I tell my husband "I want our kids in THAT school!!!"  I think I will watch it again this weekend myself.
It's a perfect family movie that will leave you in tears.....happy tears......but wanting to be more like some of the characters in the movie!  It's a story of trusting God with your life.....praying hard.....and believing in kids, parents, and others!!!

3.  I have never really been a clothes horse but I am loving the blog Hello, Gorgeous!

She has the BEST clothes ever and she shops at JC Penney, Kohl's, Forever 21, and other stores that don't break the bank!

This is one of my favorite outfits of hers........

4.  FALL!  I am loving this weather!  I love the smell of my Bath and Body Works plug-ins and the smell of soups cooking.  I love eating dinner outside with my family and hearing the wind blow!  I love hoodies and boots and pumpkins!  I love FALL!!!!!!

5.  Booking our trip to NYC!!!!!!   I get to go this December to see the lights, the tree at Rockefeller Center and watch the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City with the Rockettes!
I am so excited!!!!!

The email was full of marriage quotes and these were my favorites!  The first one I LOVE but I laugh because if we would have met any earlier it would not have been legal to get married!!!  LOL!

When a wife has a good husband it is easily seen in her face. - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
