A Few of My Favorite Things......

Taken from my friends blog.....
Here are a few of my favorite things.....

.....clean babies, sugars from my kids, sweet words from my teenage son, surprises from my hubby, compliments from hubby, crawfish with my boys, road trips, moments alone with hubby, watching Noah dance, Jesse's snaggle toothed smile, watching Emily play house in her heels, tropical mojitos from Cheesecake factory, date nights, mexican food, concerts with my hubby, sweet texts, days alone with my momma, calls from my baby brother, my dad's jokes, visits with my extended family, walking into the creche to see my son, his sweet face, HAITI, monthly updates from Haiti, sunsets, rainy days watching movies, snuggling feet, listening to the sound of my waterfalls on the pool, talking about our future, dreaming, naps, clean house, when the laundry is caught up, vacations, answered prayers, unanswered prayers and most of all God moments!

SLOW- updates on a little bit of everything!

The first update is from Haiti as many of you have been asking or wondering what is going on? Well, I don't know! We are still in MOI, actually we are in our 13th week of waiting! There are families that went in when we did and they brought their children home last week, which is a huge praise to God, but still tough that our little boy sits, waiting, for someone to sign off on his paperwork so we can get a passport and and a visa! Patience....I keep being told to be patient and believe me I am trying but it's not easy! I WANT MY BOY HOME!

Marc is in Africa this week hunting! He already shot something, can't remember the name of it, but it's pretty neat looking. I miss him like crazy! The older I get or the longer we have been married the less I like to be away from him! :) Emily just started asking yesterday when he will be home. That girl LOVES her Daddy! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for him though so I am glad he got to go and even more glad that he will be home soon!

And for an update on our new eating habits....it's still going good. Noah has lost 5lbs! YAY! Taylor is even completely on board too....he started P90X last night and is drinking lots of water and eating right. Of course he is trying to gain weight....oh to have that problem!!! I wish!!!
I have had my moments of weakness but basically doing pretty good. I think I am ready to start working out...I have been scared with my ankle and my latest fall. (at a mall again!) My weight loss is going SLOW...that can be frustrating but at least I am eating better and not drinking sodas hardly at all! Still just my one in the morning! I think I may try coffee soon....and cut out diet DP all together.

I signed up with my girlfriends to do a mud run in November so that is a reasonable amount of time to reach my weight goal. I am so excited to do this with them....we have already laughed till we cried over the thought of it. This girly girl has never had mud on her...except my mud wrap at the spa last weekend! :)

Well that's what is going on here....please continue to pray for Vensly's paperwork and for him to be home soon!

The Flying Easter Bunny!

My hubby has worked so hard on this event and boy was it a stressful week for him and for us! How do you plan properly for an event that is free to the public and when you have no idea how many people are going to show up or if any at all will show up! That was our fear even though I felt like the Lord had given me a peace about it all week long. The day could not have been any more beautiful than it was! AND we had 650 people show up!!! WOW! We fed about 525 bowls of gumbo!
When they hovered over in that chopper it was the neatest thing....I actually got teary eyed! Hubby's event that he worked so hard on was a complete success and he was seeing it all from above! The bunny waving and the looks on the kids faces was all worth it! Even if this event doesn't accomplish it's intended goal we made a great Easter for a lot of people! That is what is important! That is one thing I will never forget about that day!
When Emily saw her dad and the bunny get out she ran past the caution tape and yelled for him....cutest thing ever! (luckily, she is kind of tight with the security of the event! LOL)
She thought he brought the bunny for her!

Let me end by saying we have the best friends and family in the whole world....even the ones that couldn't be there. Marc and I both got the nicest texts of people praying and thinking about him and wishing they were there with us! The ones that were there worked their tales off....cooking, cleaning, organizing, babysitting my kids, serving, hiding 2000 eggs, cleaning some more and just being there for us! We are beyond blessed!

Whether he gets Constable in the end we don't know....I still hope and pray that he does but if he doesn't I wouldn't change a thing about that day and the nice people of beach city and surrounding areas that we met!
More pictures to come soon from my friend Shelly Lambert of Illuminate Lambert!

New Lifestyle.....one week!

I have to say that we have done pretty good......the "bad" things in the pantry are just about gone!  I have consumed more water in the last week than I probably ever have.  I averaged about 40 oz. a day.....some days I actually drank all 60 oz!!!!  WOW!  That is huge for me and I must say I am proud of myself!  Maybe it's in my head but my 3:00 crash I usually feel each day is gone.....I seem to have a lot of energy the last few days and not that bogged down feeling that diet drinks give you!

I haven't weighed in yet and I'm not sure when I will but Noah has lost three pounds over the last week.  (disclaimer.....he is NOT on a diet.....but he is overweight for his age and height and is one of my main reasons for making these changes!)
I will say that yesterday I went to my mom's and it's not as easy to eat completely healthy when traveling so we cheated some the last two days but not bad.  I had veggie pizza last night.....and ate oranges and pretzels for snacks.

I know it's Monday but here is my menu for the next few days.......

Tuesday- Clean Eating Magazine's Creole Chicken & Okra

Wednesday- Clean Eating Roasted Shrimp, Green Beans and Sweet Potatoes.

Thursday- Baked Chicken, Clean Mac and Cheese, and steamed broccoli.

Friday- we will be working at the vineyard for the big Easter event that we are putting on for the event so I am not sure what we will eat.  That is where is can get hard....I know it WON'T be fast food!  :)
