Thankful Thursday!

Today I am so thankful for my friends....old and new! I was thinking about my life the last couple of years, actually since we moved into our house and joined Second, and I have made some really good friends. We are so blessed to have so many couples that we can laugh with, cry with, pray with and just be who we are and they still love us and want to be around us!
I have had the same best friend for like a hundred years and even though lately we don't get to see each other very much we always pick right up where we left off. I know if I ever need her she will be right there and I pray she knows the same of me!

Yesterday, I went to a MOPS lunch where I have made new friends and am so excited to get to know the ladies more and share this life of being a mother with them. They are great ladies!

I can't even begin to tell you about the relationships we have made through our church. We are so blessed! I know that these people, and you know who you are, will be our prayer warriors if we need them and would tell us just what we need to hear. I can't imagine doing life without my church friends, who have become more like my family!

Last year I was thinking of trying to make our Christmas party list a little shorter but everyday it just seems to get longer! What a great problem to have.

I hope that I am as good a friend to all these people as they are to me.

Thank you God for my life and for friends!

Show Us Your Life.....Master Bedroom

@ Kelly's Korner....

This is what you see when you first walk in and as you can see I haven't done a whole lot to this room. I don't have anything hanging on the walls yet. I just can't seem to find anything I like yet and don't really know how I want to do it. Maybe that will be my next project! The lovely gun safe just seems to put a damper on things....
Any ideas on how to cover it up???? Can't get rid of it as it's bolted to the floor! :(
Anyway, this is our bedroom....enjoy!!!!

Our sweet baby girl's crib is still in our room....she is just now sleeping all the way through the night so we may move her back in her room soon but right now I kind of like waking up and seeing her sweet sleepy face first thing in the morning!!

My curtains are my favorite part of our room. I had them custom made and I love them!! I still need to get tie backs to hold them back but for now I let some just hang to block out some light that comes in from the neighbors at night.

My mom and I trade quilts sometimes....I get tired of the same thing all the time but don't like to go buy new bedding so I just go to my mom who is the queen of quilts! I love this one though....it's very girly but I still love it.

My bedside tables really don't match but they will do for now....I am going to change them soon when I find something I like!!

What women wouldn't want the Fort Knox gun safe in their bedroom....I mean it is just beautiful!!! (NOT!!!!) I had to compromise and put it in the bedroom instead of anywhere else in the house! I hate it!!!!!!
I still need to paint the top of the armoir....ooops!!!

Feeling BLUE...a little change!

Today I picked up this little table from Altar'd but had nothing to match it and wanted to make it work in my living room so afterwards Emily and I went to Kirkland's and Marshall's. First time ever that I didn't find a thing at Marshall's but Kirkland's has some really cute stuff...especially for Christmas!

I call it Robin's egg blue but it's really more of a blueish/green color with a brown colored glaze. I love it!! Mandie is so talented! Just what I needed to add some color to my all black and brown living room......

I also rearranged the living room....needed a change! Plus I needed to make my new little table work and this was the only way it would. I like it though....

I replaced a framed tin that I had with this one that I bought today. It adds a little color to the room! I already had the believe sign....

I bought these pillows today at Kirkland's and they have blue and the blue/green color in them....I think they look good. Of course, they aren't the ones I wanted because of course those are about $100 each and well, I am cheap!!!

Remember this little table....well I finally painted it about 10pm last night.....

Now it looks like this....so much better!!!!

Monkey See....Monkey Do.....

I finally finished Noah and Jesse's bathroom and they love it! I wasn't so sure about the green because it is loud but I think it looks great with the monkey shower curtain. I made the little canvases that are hanging over the commode so don't laugh at my monkeys. They were about $5 for both compared to the ones I was going to order that were about $15 each!
The towels are from Ross and the the monkey see...monkey do was hand painted by me!
Enjoy.....

Show Us Your Life.....Living Rooms!!!

I am participating in Kelly's Korner Show me Your Life- and this week it is all about Living Rooms! These may end up being my before pictures as I am ready to redo my living room....it's nice but I am getting tired of it!! I want to add some color...like robin's egg blue!! I love that color!!

This is my mantel that I had painted black and "distressed" right after we moved in....I love it!!

After walking in the front door and through the entry way this is what you see.....

View from the kitchen....I was standing over the sink when I took this picture.

This is the bookcase we had built to fit in this space....I love it! It's my favorite piece of furniture in the room!

You know Jesse....my little ham...he has to be in all the pictures!

A Special Gift......all the way from Haiti.....

Not flesh of my flesh
Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart,
But in it.

That is so true! I know it's probably hard for some to understand but that is exactly how I feel about this little guy. He is my son and I can't wait to meet him. We will be going to Haiti and visit very soon. It will be one of the best trips ever but also one of the hardest as we will have to leave him. Leaving is about all he knows right now as everyone in his life leaves....from his birth parents, to the missionaries that come in, to his care takers in the orphanage, and that is what we are going to have to do too...at least once, maybe more, depending on when he gets to come home for good! He lacks that one person to hug and kiss on him ALL THE TIME! That tears my heart out now, much less when I actually have to leave him after we visit!!

PRAY for him and us!! We are hoping to get to go in October or early November.

A special friend's husband went to visit their little girl and took these pictures of Vensly. I was so happy to see him riding on that fire truck as that means he is probably walking and he looks like he's gained weight and his hair is growing!!! I think he is so beautiful and can't wait to love on him!!
My friend said when he left his daughter she was screaming and he could hear her from the 6th floor and she was on the first floor! HEART BREAKING!!!

If you have a minute, please pray for these precious children and that their paperwork is processed in record time so they can get home to their forever family!

A Better Haiti.....update and what is coming soon!!!

Our website to donate to Brent Gambrell Ministries is coming soon and looks SO GOOD!! I can't wait to see how God works through that site and my husband's efforts to raise money for the people of Haiti. Have I told you how awesome he is and how proud I am of him for all he has done???? Well I AM!!!! God has moved in his life in a mighty way and I know will continue to. Rather he raises the money to build one house or a hundred I will still be as proud of him. Today we have sent BGM a check for $4200 and about to send another one for $2100. That is a total of $6300!!! The first money went to buy laptops for teachers so they have the tools they need for teaching and the second will go towards the first house we will build!
If you feel led to give...even as little as $5 helps....then please let me know or wait a week or so until we announce the new website and you can go straight there to donate!!!

You are 13 months today!!!!

What a little girl you are becoming....where is my baby? You have changed so much just in the last month. You are walking EVERYWHERE....sometimes you are almost running!
You say Daddy, Bubba and we are thinking that you say Puppy. You make a little "erf erf" sound that is so cute!! You sound like a little puppy dog. You have 11 teeth and eat everything we eat but you still love your bottle of milk. You can move the gate to climb the stairs to get up there with your brothers. You love to splash in the commode and unroll all the toilet paper. You like to get in my makeup and you actually know what to do with some of it. You go just about everywhere I do and I love that. I am so blessed to get to spend every minute with you. I sometimes wish I could slow down time as you are growing up way to fast! I love you my sweet baby girl!!

I was featured and a party idea!!!!

I was so excited to find out that I was featured for the very FIRST time on another blog for Emily's Sweet Shoppe party. You can check it out at Everyday Celebrating. On that blog I found this party she has also featured. I will definitely be doing this for our Christmas party for the kids!!! So neat!!!
