First Day of Spring....Emily's first time at the park.....

I took the boys and Emily to the park today....it was a beautiful day!! Emily LOVED the swing!! The first picture of Emily could very well be my favorite picture of her yet!! Jesse was in rare form and wouldn't smile right or cooperate with me or the camera but had a great time playing. Noah just enjoyed the skateboard and the park. I wish everyday could be as pretty as today!

Adoption....to my boys:

This is Taylor holding Noah at the airport for the very first time!!!

This is Jesse all dressed up for his "Meet the Baby" party a few days after his homecoming!! That smile always cracked me up!!!

My boys Noah and Jesse have the same birthmother and there is not a day that goes by that I don't wonder if she thinks of them and wonders how they are. There is a part of me that wants her to know that they are happy, healthy, smart, fun, playful, loving, social, beautiful, handsome, and so many more things but another part of me that would be scared if she wanted to meet them. I know neither of them are old enough or ready to meet them now but maybe one day. I was looking at adoption quotes and poems and these stood out to me.......

To Noah and Jesse......
Once there were two expectant mothers.
One carried and cared for you beneath her beating heart
She became your Birthmother.
The other carried the hope of you within her.
She became your Mom.

As the days passed, and you grew bigger and stronger,
Your Birthmother knew that she could not give you all you needed after your birth.
Meanwhile, your Mom was ready and waiting for you.

God united your birthmother and mother in a really unique way.

If they could look in each other's eyes they would see a friend.
Your Birthmom knew the life your Mom could give you.
Your Mom knew how much your Birthmom loves and wants the best for you.

They decided that what you needed was both kinds of love in your life.

So now you have two families,
One by birth, the other by adoption.

And you have a home where you can get:
your questions answered,
your boo boos bandaged,
your heartaches soothed,
And much needed hugs.

And hopefully one day a place where you can find:
answers to your questions,
your image in the mirror,
a part of yourself,
And much needed hugs.

Two different kinds of families
Two different kinds of love
Both a part of you.

Today I kissed an angel....

Today I kissed an angel.
I knew it from the start.
The first time my angel smiled at me;
I gave away my heart.
Today I kissed an angel;
This angel child of mine
Though not of my creation,
My child by God's design.

Today I kissed an angel.
My heart is dancing wild;
Our family, by a miracle;
Blessed by our angel child.

Playing with Daddy......

Last night Emily was being so sweet playing with her Daddy!! I love the first picture....click to enlarge!!

It's that time again.....Emily Grace is 7 Months old...

I can not believe how fast my baby girl is growing up. I sometimes wish I could stop time and she could just stay a baby forever. I love the ages all my kiddos are now and am afraid to blink and they will be all grown up!

Emily, you are the most precious baby girl in the world. You look like a little doll...a chubby little doll! You are 20lbs and are already in size 12 months. You still are 100% breast fed...no I haven't started cereal or baby food yet. We may try it this weekend. I have tried twice and you do not like it at all!!
You can roll all around the living room and love your activity center and toys. You can finally play with toys without dropping them and are finally sitting up on your own. You get really mad if you fall over. You hardly ever cry and laugh and smile at everything. You truly are one of the best surprises Daddy and I could have ever been blessed with!

The last picture is her grabbing at the camera when I went in for a close up...so funny!!

Sunday- Sandwiches, Chips and Dips with small group

Monday- Chicken Florentine (Paula Dean recipe)

(2) packages frozen chopped spinach
6 chicken breast halves (about 4 pounds), cooked, boned, and shredded
2 (10 3/4-ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
2 cup grated sharp Cheddar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon curry powder
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
2 tablespoons butter
Directions
Remove the outer wrappers from the box of spinach. Open 1 end of each box. Microwave on full power for 2 minutes, until thawed. Drain the spinach and put into a large bowl. Add the shredded chicken.

In a medium bowl, combine the soup, mayonnaise, sour cream, Cheddar, lemon juice, curry powder, salt and pepper, to taste, and wine. Whisk together to make a sauce. Pour the sauce over the spinach and chicken. Mix well with a spatula.

Place the mixture into an 11 by 7-inch casserole dish or 2 (9-inch) square disposable aluminum foil pans that have been sprayed with vegetable oil cooking spray. Pat down evenly and smooth with a spatula. Combine the Parmesan and bread crumbs and sprinkle over the top. Dot with the butter.

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes until bubbly.

Noah and Emily.....

Noah and Emily are 7 years apart and it's funny because Noah loves Emily and loves to talk about her to his teachers and classmates but at home he really could take her or leave her. But every now and then he will ask to hold her and this weekend was one of those times so I thought I would capture that moment. He is so gentle and sweet with her and she just squeals out loud and tries to eat his face....so cute!!!! He said in the first picture he was giving her a nugee!! (not sure how you spell it) Emily is so blessed to have Noah as a big brother!!
